An Envious Trip

November 11, 2007

My friend is going to Paris for a business trip - again. Gosh how I envy her! I would want to work for a company who would send me on business trips in the different parts of the globe! My friend says I should be careful with what I wish for as traveling often can be really stressful and tiring. I don’t know, i guess I love traveling that much so I guess these won’t bother me at all.

It’s funny though that after several trips to France, she is still asking me for suggestions on hotels in France. She says, the company would be paying for it but she sisn’t really need a super posh place as she will be staying there partly for business and partly for a vacation. She actually needs suggestions on hotels in 2 places. She needs a list of hotels in Paris where she would be staying first (and the longest) and she also needs suggestions on nice hotels too!

Did I say I envy her? Sigh. I wonder when I can visit France, I hope soon.

I Am Moving - Again.

August 26, 2007

How is everyone? Hope you’re all well. I am setting aside time to update this blog - more for my sanity than anything else.

I’ve packed my things in the office as I will be assigned to a different site come Monday. It was a bittersweet moment. I was sad because I considered “Pioneer” as my home - career wise. Eversince I started with the company I started there. The builidng was just set up and I was a “Pioneer” in that account. I was sad saying goodbye with the friends I have, the camaraderie we have, the lunches and the ‘yosi’ breaks we had.

At the same time, I am happy and excited about the new challenges I am about to face, the people I will meet and friends I will make. After all, I won’t be moving continents. I will be just minutes away. :)

I guess, life’s just like that and as always, I will be strong and cope. Wish me luck!

I need insurance!

February 20, 2007

My friend and I got to talking over a cup of coffee one day about how he got himself an insurance plan. He was really happy about the plan he got for himself and kept talking about retiring early. I envy him and how goal oriented he was. At the young age of 24, he already knew what he wanted and where he wanted to be in his life. What’s really nice is that he still maintains a humble attitude even with all his successful.

Talking to him made me realize that hubby and I did not have any plans to our name! My goodness! I started to panic. When I got home I immediately took out my laptop and searched the internet for great deals on insurance plans. I found a great site where you can get nice quotes on life, auto or home insurance. All you need is to fill up is a simple form and voila! Instant quote! They even give you a guide on basic insurance as well as Insurance by State guide. And if all these are still complicated for you, you can contact an agent to help you out. If this isn’t a good deal then I don’t know what is.

Re-connected

November 23, 2006

It’s been so long since I last posted. Work, as usual, got the better of me. Plus, we only had dial up connection before and it took forever to connect.

So, let’s do some backtracking and list down what happened the past couple of weeks, shall we?

1. October was a busy month. I had new responsibilities that came along with the promotion so the month was filled with work related stuff that I would rather not itemize here. :-) October 22 also marked my Dad’s birthday. We had a special dinner treat for dad at Saisaki. It’s been such a long time since we did this as a family. Needless to say, my dad was his usual melodramatic self, “you guys didn’t have to do this” etc. etc. but he did enjoy and that was what’s important.

Also, I am thankful this month because I got me an advanced Christmas gift. My new baby, a DELL Inspiron 6000

Hubby is using the NEO laptop. I had a hard time when he started bringing it to work so I decided I needed one too! I am immensely enjoying its 1GB memory. Although me and hubby look funny when we’re together at home. We’ve both got our noses on a laptop each hahaha!

Next on my wish list is this:

I know I sound too materialistic but hey, no harm in making a wish right? ;-)

October 27 was Victory Weekend for women at Victory Christian Fellowship. I had a blast learning about a lot of stuff. Sorry i wasn’t able to bring my camera along.

2. November was my hubby’s birthday month. Day before his birthday was spent with friends, Oli, Rachel and Chester. We had a blast at Oli and Rache’s new pad! Condo living at the heart of Quezon City is what we call it. They actually turned Oli’s parents’ roofdeck into their own 3 bedroom home. The couple designed it so stylishly that it looks and feels like they’re living in a condo! For hubby’s birthday we just had a simple celebration here at home with the Belens. We had spaghetti and chicken. I even had to go to work that night as we were busy with the release of schedules.

Tuesday was another blessing. We were able to apply for SmartBro and we now have broadband internet connection. Hay sarap! To not worry about internet load and tying up the lines. I wonder why we didn’t think about this before. What’s good was they have this promo until December 31 - no installation fee! :-) Anyway, hubby was not contented and arrived last night with a Linksys Wireless-G router! Not being a techie person, I had a hard time setting it up though. Now the entire house is WiFi enabled. Truly, God is good! How sweet is His favor!

Hmm.. what else. That’s basically it. I’ll be able to update more frequently now that connecting to the internet is not a problem. So watch out for more updates. :)

My Life Manual

December 10, 2005

Went out for coffee last night and a fresh dose of spiritual wisdom. This coming January, I will be attending the Victory Weekend and a requirement of that is to go through the “one to one” session. “One to one” is where you and a spiritually mature person (who has gone through victory weekend already) will discuss the basics on how to live a spiritual-filled life. But wait, before you think this is boring, think again. Like I said, I had so much fun last night. I’ve been having one to one sessions with my friend Rache for the past few months now and every session we had was filled with sharing about our spiritual growth, prayers and chit chats about everything and anything under the sun.

Last night we discussed chapters 5,6 and 7 of the manual. The thing that struck me most was learning about the Bible, that just like we need food to grow strong physically, we need to crave reading, understanding and obeying the Bible to help us grow strong spiritually.

“Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, Since you have [already] tasted the goodness and kindness of the Lord.” 1 Peter 2:2-3 (Amplified Bible)

Reading God’s word has always proven challenging in the past. When I wake up in the morning, I have to rush for work. When I get home, I feel tired and sleepy already and could not focus. There are times when I couldn’t really understand anything even if I’ve reread the verse or chapter several times already. But lately, with God’s grace and guidance, I actually look forward to reading the Bible. All the scriptures can be used in any facet of my life in so many different ways! The truths found in it, the promises, the stories, everything about the Bible is so amazing it makes me want to read it all the more! The Bible is what I consider my “manual” for life. The Bible is so useful in everyday life if you just take to heart all the promises of God stated in it, after all, it is GOD’S WORD. :)

“Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another–showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (The Message)

I am just so amazed of how God is changing my heart little by little everyday, but of course that’s a different post for a different day. ;)

That said, I’d like to say thanks to a very dear friend of ours,

Rache, thank you so much for always being there. For the laughter, for the kuento, for the prayers, for sharing your walk with the Lord. Thank you very much for the friendship! I am just so thankful God sent you into my life — into our lives. Like what God says in His word:

“It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough!”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (The Message)

I pray that God will bless you, Oli and the kids to overflowing! Looking forward to more years of growing together in the Lord!
