Ahiya R’s Wedding

November 20, 2005

Ahiya R’s wedding (the reception that is, wasn’t able to make it to the church ceremony but hubby says it was organized and wonderful as well) was beautiful! Arrived at Hotel Intercon wearing jeans and shirt plus sandals! hahaha! pasaway! Hubby brought my formal clothes with him so I changed nalang :)

The set up of the ballroom was very romantic with lots of flowers and candles. I had so much fun seeing my paternal cousins from Cotabato! It’s been years since we went there (the last time we went there as a family was way back in 1990, and the last time I saw them there was when I attended Ahiya L’s wedding in Davao October of 2002) so imagine the shrieks and the hugs and the beso besos we did! Not to mention the how are you’s and the chikahans! Back when we were kids kasi and air fares were not exorbitant, our family would always spend our summer vacations and christmases in Cotabato. (My father was born in Jolo, Sulu and they moved to Cotabato City. Most of his siblings are there pa including his mom but some of them relocated to either cebu, davao or tacloban) I remember crying at the airport when it’s time for us to go back to Manila na. nyahaha. Anyway, I was really happy seeing them again! I wish we could organize a reunion of some sort soon! :)

Oh and before I forget, one highlight of the reception was when we were being serenaded by Bernie Pasamba (while eating the sumptous dinner), a beautiful fireworks display suddenly burst out of the window. Ang ganda talaga! We were all awed! I asked my cousin V if it was for Ahiya R’s wedding. Funny thing was, it wasnt part of his wedding at all! Turns out Glorietta had this midnight sale going on and the fireworks display was part of it! Hahaha! Galing ng timing! John Tronco and his photography crew quickly took snapshots of it which lasted for about 5 minutes! O diba? Free fireworks for your wedding, what more could you ask for? heheh! Pero shempre nahiya naman kunyari si Ahiya R and during his thank you speech, he thanked Ayala for their midnight madness at nagkaroon sila ng instant fireworks display on their wedding! Nyahahaha! Wish I could post some pics kaso our Digicam is busted e Waaahhh! All I have are pics on my mobile phone, eh poor quality so wag nalang. If my cousins sends me pics, I’ll post it! :)

RANTING :(

November 19, 2005

Major rant coming up….

As posted earlier, am here at work right now. I can’t help but get irritated because of the SPAM mails I’ve been getting from other agents. What part of “Email address is provided to all employees for business purposes only” don’t you understand???? I mean, I also send out personal mails but NOT and I repeat NOT SPAM and chain letters!!!! Grrr!!! Not only is it a waste of time, but because of your SPAMS and Chainletters, my mailbox gets full and thus I am unable to receive important mails. Sheesh!

I tried ignoring and deleting these messages before, but when I missed one very important mail from admin I can’t help but rant. I may be over reacting, but this is how I feel. Blame it all on PMS. >:(

Meanwhile, another thing that’s getting on my nerves is this agent beside me. She’s fairly a newbie, only about 3 weeks on the floor. She has been cussing while on mute in each and every call that she gets. Plus, she pounds on the avaya buttons like nobody else is going to use it after she does. I mean, hello?!?!! If you dont like what you are doing, WHAT THE H** ARE YOU DOING WORKING IN A CALL CENTER?!?!?! I know our account is hard, stressfull, call it whatever name you like, it’s a travel account for goodness sake! But why, oh why did you even sign up or applied for this account?!! You’ve been through training, you know what type of calls you will be getting even before you hit the floor, so if you’re not liking it, what are you still doing here?!?! You are in the customer service field my dear, assisting customers is the main job description you have, and if you’re not finding it to your liking then you are in the wrong industry. Having the kind of attitude you have towards our customers (or customers in general) is the reason why people have this bad perspective of customer service agents. I mean, I do get irate sometimes, you can’t avoid that, but try to change your attitude girl. Believe me, it helps.

I’m sorry for sounding so mean. I know not everyone enjoys this account and this industry. It’s just so irritating to hear her cuss a number of times in each and every call and It’s irritating to hear her say she doesn’t like doing bookings. Imagine going to work in a fairly positive attitude, providing assistance to customers the best you can and hearing the agent beside you (literally beside me as one station has two computers on it before a divider separates it from another station) cuss in each every call does not help! Haay, what can I do but rant and transfer stations hehehe.

Enough ranting…

Almost a year…

Today is Ahiya R’s wedding day. Ahiya R is my paternal cousin. He hails from Cotabato, and stayed with our family when he went to college here in Manila. I consider him my second kuya. We exchanged SMS messages a few days back and I realized I miss him. Back when he was still in college, we often talked about anything under the sun. I knew about his crushes and he knew mine. (No, he’s not gay, he’s getting married na nga! :) ) When he got a place of his own, we lost touch na. Specialy when he was assigned in Mindanao. Now he’s getting married! Congratulations Ahiya R! Am so happy for you and D! :) Am here at work but I will be going straight to the reception once my shift ends at 6PM. Wouldn’t want to miss your special day!

I started thinking what they could be doing right now. These thoughts made me reminisce about my wedding day 11 months ago. At about this time, the hotel suite we booked was in utter chaos. Photographers were taking pictures of the accessories, Kuks and his team were putting on make up on some of the entourage. I was all made up, in my robe, eating, watching all the fuss. :) Almost a year after, I still smile when I remember snippets of that day. Makes me miss all the wedding preparations, the stress, the excitement, the joy…sans the costs of course! :)

Our wedding story is posted on my old home.

Excitement

November 18, 2005

Hectic day! We’ve been receiving lots of calls. Stressed.

I got a perfect Customer Satisfaction survey so they gave me a cap with our client’s logo on it. Cute and I am happy. Babaw ba? hehehe! :) Wala lang, I got na a water jug, a lanyard (ewan kung tama ang spelling pero ito yung id lace :) ) all with the client’s logo on it, naigiipon kasi ako. :) I Am obviously enjoying this account - stress and all :) .

Am very excited about something. I can’t keep my mind off it. I gave it all to God and told myself that whatever the result, it would be according to God’s good and perfect plan. But, I still can’t stop thinking about it. Will post about it here soon. (and for those wondering, sadly this has nothing to do with pregnancy. :( )

November 14, 2005

I work for a call center and am part of a travel account. I’m enjoying it immensely. There are days when I wring my hair in frustration, but there are those days when customers can really make you laugh and ease away the stress.

Here is a post i made from my previous blog. Let me repost it here:

I like being on the morning shift, specially the 9AM shift kasi nga I could sleep sa gabi and have more time with H. But sometimes though, I get bored. We don’t get much calls specially around 3PM manila time. Early morning na kasi nyan sa states. My account deals with travel, so travel agent kami or travel specialist kung tawagin nila. I’m enjoying it so far kasi challenging. Challenging talaga! Kasi shempre kailangang i calm down mo ang customer mo. May mga nakakatuwang calls din naman na pag naaalala ko nawawala ang stress ko. Katulad nalang nitong isang call na to:

Customer: (Galit na galit) I only booked a flight, why did you guys charge me for a taxi?

Me:(checked the record pero wala talagang taxi o ground transportation na nakabook) Ma’am, where do you see on your confirmation email that a taxi was charged to your credit card?

Customer: It’s here under the price of the flight.

Me: (tinignan ang record, nagmute at tumawa ng tumawa) Ma’am, what you see are the TAXES for the flight that you booked. You know, tax, like income tax?

Customer: Oh, (tumahimik) oh..sorry about that. Thank you.

at ito pa:

Me: can i get your name please?

Customer: (mexican sha) Juan.

Me: and your last name please?

Customer: can i just give you my email address so you can pull up my account?

Me: sure!
(binigay ang email address. At napull up ang account. Kaya naman pala ayaw ibigay ang last name nya dahil ang last name nya ay…tantananan.. GAGO! - hilarious talaga! )

Happy Birthday Honey!

November 13, 2005

Happy Birthday Honey!

I’m sorry your birthday gift is delayed. Dibale lapit na, 1st week of December and we will be able to shop for it na. :)

It really amazes me how God works. His ways are truly wondrous! Days prior to Hubby’s birthday, he was sad thinking he could not even celebrate it with simple pansit or whatever due to financial reasons. He warned me not to remind anyone of his birthday as he was “nahihiya” that he could not afford to treat anybody..yeah, not even his family. I promised him I won’t breathe a word to anyone and gently reminded him that God is faithful. I prayed asking God for provision for that day and to make my hubby’s birthday a happy one.

2 Days before his birthday his cousin called up and told him they will be dropping by the next day since it was hubby’s birthday. Sheepishly, Hubby told him that we would not be able to offer them anything. Hubby said to just postpone it til next week. Kuya Gerry was persistent saying “ako na bahala sa drinks“. After a few hours several relatives called and asked what Hubby’s favorite cake flavor as they will be dropping by for his birthday. To make a long story short, a lot of people dropped by the house and we had a grand time celebrating hubby’s birthday with relatives and friends. We had lots of food, drinks, kunetos and a lot more!

Before we went to sleep, Hubby was teary eyed and told me God is indeed wonderful. I mean we really appreciate that our friends and family remembered hubby’s birthday but the thing is it was never really such a big fuss before (execpt of course with me and his family), and a simple text or call or greeting would have made us really happy, but I guess, God had plans, and it amazed us that a lot of people called up and showed up to celebrate his birthday with him, bringing in lots of food, kuentos and laughter, hours after we prayed. It may be a simple thing for others, they may call us “mababaw,” but one thing we know, God is good and faithful. He really works in wondrous ways!

To all the people who were there, to those who texted, emailed, called and greeted hubby on his day, thank you so so much for making his birthday a special one. We could never thank you enough! May God bless you abundantly!

Getting the hang of blogsome

November 12, 2005

Okay, am still trying to get a hang of this thing so please bear with me. I’m trying to figure out how i could customize my blog more.

I’m finding this really nice though. Happy that I could finally update from the office. I work from 9am to 6pm. It gets pretty boring here once the clock hits 2pm. Probable because it’s early morning there in the USA. Oh well, will try to customize my page again. Will post soon. =)
